Kennedy/Jenks Consultants The SSO will take into account the following information: • Nature of emergency • Wind direction • Location of personnel • Monitoring results • Emergency equipment available • Offsite population Based on this information, the SSO will direct appropriate emergency action and agency notification. After the emergency has been controlled and the site is considered safe to re-enter, the SSO, in coordination with the Project Manager, will direct the remaining scope of work. The SSO will investigate the nature and cause of the incident so that work procedures can be modified to minimize the likelihood of the incident's recurrence. Ali incidents must be reported in a timely, appropriate manner to the H & S Manager and DHSE. An incident is any unplanned event resulting in injury, damage, loss of assets, adverse publicity, or which requires notification of a regulatory agency, regardless of severity. All K/J personnel should report an incident to the SSO. The SSO will report to the project manager who is responsible for notifying the H &S Manager and DHSE. Each incident will be investigated and a Root Cause Analysis Report will be generated and forwarded to the project manager and the Business Unit H&S Manager. 8.3 Emergency Supplies Onsite emergency equipment will include equipment used during operations (heavy equipment)and reserved items stored at the decontamination/assembly area and at strategic areas onsite. The following is a list of emergency equipment available to take to the site. • Portable emergency eye wash • First Aid supplies • Absorbent-spill control • Extra batteries for radios, monitoring equipment, etc. All personnel will have a thorough understanding of the Emergency Response Plan before starting work. It will be reviewed periodically to keep it current with new or changing site conditions or information. 8.4 Injury Response All injuries are reported regardless of severity. Minor injuries (sprains, strains, etc.) are reported to WorkCare at 888-4449-7787.
