CITC <br /> �C <br /> 4� <br /> A S S O C I A T Ef5 I N C MAY 0 5 2005 <br /> April 15, 2005 ENWONMENT HEALTH <br /> 54 62583 0001 PERNT/SER"CES <br /> Ms Mary Serra <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> Central Valley Region <br /> 11020 Sun Center Drive, Suite 200 <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 <br /> Subject First Quarter 2005 Monitoring Report, Diamond Walnut Growers, 1050 South <br /> Diamond Street Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms Serra <br /> ATC Associates Inc , on behalf of Diamond Walnut Growers, Inc , has prepared this letter report <br /> to serve as a First Quarter 2005 Monitoring Report for the subject site (Figure 1) <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> ATC's activities during the First Quarter of 2005 included monitoring water levels, collecting <br /> groundwater samples from nine on-site monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-9 shown on Figure <br /> 2, and preparing this quarterly report <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING <br /> On January 19, 2005, ATC personnel conducted quarterly monitoring and sampling at the above <br /> referenced site The wells were gauged, purged, and sampled in accordance with the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board Central Valley Region (RWQCB) Monitoring and <br /> Reporting Program No R5-2004-0840 for Diamond Walnut Growers, Inc , issued November 24 <br /> 2004 <br /> Fieldwork consisted of measuring depth to groundwater, purging the on-site monitoring wells, <br /> and collecting samples from each of the nine wells (MW 1-MW9) Groundwater samples were <br /> collected after purging the monitoring wells and verifying the stabilization of pH, electrical <br /> conductivity, and temperature Turbidity and redox potential were also measured in the field <br /> Following collection of the groundwater samples, dissolved oxygen was measured in each well <br /> Groundwater levels in the shallow monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-8) ranged from 54 46 <br /> to 57 21 feet below grade, an average increase in the water table of 1 09 feet since water depth <br /> was last measured on October 19, 2004 The groundwater gradient direction on January 19, 2005 <br /> was to the east with an average magnitude of 0 0015 ft/ft This appears to be generally, within <br /> s lenvironmental162583lquarterlyl!qr-2005 doc <br /> J <br />
