LABORATORY NARRATIVE
ATL GC Application #32
Prim Environmental
1 Workorder# 0410429
Three Vial samples were received on October 19, 2004 The laboratory performed analysis of Methane via GC
application#32 using GC/F1D The method involves transferring 5 gram of sample into a headspace vial The
vial is then placed into HP7694 Headspace Autosampler equipped with oven, shaker and 1 mL sample loop
' Sample is incubated and then equilibrated at 40'C for 15 minutes with high agitation. Fuially, a direct infection of
the headspace is performed See the data sheets for the reporting hmAs for each compound
Receiving Notes
There were no receiving discrepancies
Analytical Notes
The analysis is qualitative in nature because the analytical system was calibrated using gaseous standards that did
not undergo the partitioning process performed in,the sample matrix
Definition of Data Qualifying Flags
Seven qualifiers may have been used on the data analysis sheets and indicate as follows
B - Compound present in laboratory blank greater than reporting limit
1- Estimated value
E- Exceeds instrument calibration range
S - Saturated peak
' Q- Exceeds quality control hrruts
U- Compound analyzed for but not detected above the detection timet
M- Reported value may be biased due to apparent matrix interferences
He extensions may have been used on the data analysis sheets and indicates
as follows
a-File was requantified
b-File was quantified by a second column and detector
r1-File was requantified for the purpose of reissue
' Page 2 of 7
