V 1117 Lone Palm Avenue, Suite B <br /> Modesto, CA 95351 <br /> www atc-enviro com <br /> 209 579 2221 <br /> Fax 209 579 2225 <br /> A S S O C I A T E S E N C <br /> March 16, 2404 �' ) <br /> 54 62583 0001 MAR $ Z0o <br /> EN�lRO�M��RVIC�S H <br /> PrcRNi1T�S <br /> Ms Mary Serra <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> Central Valley Region <br /> 3443 Routier Road, Suite A <br /> Sacramento, CA 95827 <br /> Subject First Quarter 2004 Monitoring Report, Diamond Walnut Growers, 1050 South <br /> Diamond Street, Stockton, California <br /> Dear Ms Serra <br /> ATC Associates Inc , on behalf of Diamond Walnut Growers, Inc , has prepared this letter report <br /> to serve as a First Quarter 2004 Monitoring Report for the subject site (Figure 1) <br /> • INTRODUCTION <br /> ATC's activities during the First Quarter of 2004 included monitoring water levels and collecting <br /> groundwater samples from nine on-site monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-9), and the <br /> inactive facility well (FW) shown on Figure 2 and preparation of this quarterly report <br /> GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING <br /> On January 21, 2004, ATC personnel conducted quarterly monitoring and sampling at the above <br /> referenced site The wells were gauged, purged, and sampled in accordance with the California <br /> Regional Water Quality Control Board Central Valley Region (RWQCB) Monitoring and <br /> Reporting Program No R5-2002-0821 for Diamond Walnut Growers, Inc , dated July 3, 2002 <br /> Fieldwork consisted of measuring depth to groundwater, purging the on-site monitoring wells, <br /> and collecting samples from each of the nine wells, and the inactive facility well Groundwater <br /> samples were collected after purging the monitoring wells and verifying the stabilization of pH, <br /> electrical conductivity, and temperature Following collection of the groundwater samples, <br /> dissolved oxygen and turbidity were measured in each well <br /> Groundwater levels in the shallow monitoring wells ranged from 54 03 to 56 49 feet below <br /> grade, an average increase m the water table of 1 17 feet since water depth was last measured in <br /> October 2003 The groundwater gradient direction on January 21, 2004 was to the east with an <br /> average magnitude of 0 001 ft/ft This appears to be within historical parameters, which have <br /> indicated the predominant groundwater gradient direction is to the east with variation between <br /> s\environmental1625831quarter1y\1gr-2004 doc 1 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL, GEOTECHNICAL AND MATERIALS PROFESSIONALS <br />
