SCOPE OF WORK <br /> To assess the extent of released chemicals in soil and ground water, WA proposes to drill <br /> soil borings beneath Vaults 1, 6 and 8 and install ground water monitoring wells next to these <br />' vaults in the estimated downgradient direction from the vaults Soil samples collected from <br /> all the borings will be analyzed to further characterize the extent of released chemicals beneath <br /> the vaults Analyses of ground water samples collected from the monitoring wells will assess <br /> the impact, if any, of the chemicals stored in the vaults on the ground water WA's scope of <br /> work (SOW) for the Phase II investigation is to <br />' <br /> Prepare a site Health and Safety Ian <br /> P Y F <br /> • Investigate the current depth to water in the nearby municipal wells and in any <br /> other available local water wells <br /> • Drill two soil borings adjacent to each of Vaults 1, 6 and 8 and collect soil samples <br /> for hydrogeologic description and possible chemical analysis <br />' Install a ground water monitoring well adjacent to each of the three vaults,develop <br /> the three wells, and collect water samples for chemical analysis <br /> • Survey the top-of-casing elevations of the monitoring wells and determine the <br /> ground water flow direction and gradient <br /> • Analyze the soil and ground water samples for compounds formerly stored in the <br /> vaults <br />' Pteport the investigation results <br /> Each of these tasks is described in detail below <br />' 3 1 SITE SAFETY PLAN <br /> Based on the vault use history and the results of the Phase I investigation, WA will <br /> prepare a site-specific Health and Safety pian to identify potential site hazards and specify <br /> D \A1.1,\3311)WG\331P1SE0 WP Page 12 <br />
