GEOMATRIX
that the reference doses (Rf )s)used to calculate the HIs are estimated based on small mam-
malian toxicity data which are divided by large uncertainty factors, it is unlikely that the resid-
ual petroleum hydrocarbons would cause a risk to ecological receptors if the HIs associated
with human receptors are below the target risk range.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS
This report documents the results of a health screening evaluation for potential health risks
' associated with residual petroleum in soil and groundwater at the Surland Homes Property in
the City of Tracy, California. The screening evaluation, which was based on conservative
' assumptions in the PEA, indicates that residual petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in soil and
groundwater do not pose an unacceptable health risk to hypothetical residents. In addition, it is
' unlikely that residual petroleum hydrocarbons in soil and groundwater would pose a risk to
ecological receptors. Therefore, no further action is required and site closure is recommended.
1
' I:\Doc_Safe\6000s\6447.007\HRAVSuIsnd HRA.doc 5
