GEOMATRIX
water well construction ordinances require relatively deep sanitary seals that
isolate these shallow groundwaters from the production zone(i.e.,well
construction standards for San Joaquin County require a minimum of 100 feet of
grout seal for wells installed as a drinking water supply). Additionally, the site
is within the city limits of Tracy and the Tracy municipal code does not allow
for the legal installation of a new drinking water supply well or the further use of
an existing drinking water supply well by private parties within the city limits
and within 200 feet of connection to a city water main. Therefore, there are no
plausible threats to the future beneficial use of the shallow groundwater beneath
the site posed by the residual petroleum.
Based on the favorable comparison to the"Criteria for Low Risk Ground Water Designation"
as outlined in the RWQCB's Appendix B,the management strategy recommended is closure.
Accordingly,we recommend that this site be closed by the regulatory agency.
' \\sl9\deptdate\Doc_Safe\4780.01klanpt.dM 8
