The report .
recommends the installation of three on-site and one off-site monitoring wells to
monitor the groundwater plume identified at the site. This recommendation
appears to be appropriate at this time with the following modifications.
• Due to the presence of contamination in the groundwater near the tank
complex area, a survey of wells within a 2000 feet radius of the site
must be performed.
• The installation of an off-site well .may be premature at this time. PHS-
EHD recommends relocating this data point to the area near the tank
complex which showed the highest levels of contamination during the
investigation. Information from this well will be used to determine the
volume of groundwater impacted and will provide essential data for the
evaluation of remedial alternatives-for this site.
• All of the wells installed at the site should be designed to allow for the
dual purposes of groundwater monitoring and vapor extraction testing.
This type of installation can be followed immediately by a vapor
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
