(AGE) has prepared this -report for the <br /> abandonment of four single-completed monitoring wells constructed oftwo-inch diameter PVC well <br /> casing at 1807 Douglas Road, Stockton, California (the site). Site.structures and abandoned <br /> monitoring well locations are depicted on Figure 1. <br /> INTRODUCTION/SACKGROUND <br /> Four single-completed two-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells(MW-1,MW-2,MW-3 and <br /> MW-4) had been installed as part of a subsurface investigation of the former underground storage <br /> tank(UST) and dispenser areas at the site. Monitoring well MW-1 was installed to a depth of 32.5 <br /> feet below surface grade(bsg);MW-2 and MW-3 were installed to depths of 30 feet bsg and MW-4 <br /> was installed to a depth of 29 feet bsg. It was required that the monitoring wells be destroyed <br /> (abandoned)before final closure at the site would be granted. <br /> PROCEDURES <br /> Well abandonment activities were performed on 27 November 2001 by Cascade Drilling, Inc. of <br /> Rancho Cordova.The fourwells were abandoned bypressure grouting using aportland cement grout <br /> mixture. A ratio of six gallons water for every'94-pound sack of portland cement was utilized in <br /> preparation ofthe grout mixture.MW-1,MW-2,MW-3 and MW-4 were completely backfilled with <br /> the grout mixture, and then the grout column was placed under.pressure (20 to 30 psi) for. <br /> approximately three minutes to ensure grout penetration into the filter pack.
