I
CHRONOLOGY
PAIGES TOWING
1807 DOUGLAS ROAD,STOCKTON CA 95205
1215189 Collected soil samples from six soil borings(two vertical and four angle)in the area of the existing {
10,000 gallon regular/unleaded underground fuel storage tank(UST)(State ID 39-1078-01),and
the 10,000 gallon regular/diesel fuel UST(State ID 39-1078-02)at the site.
01/30/90 San Joaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division(PHS/EHD)received
analytical results of the soil samples. Results were 150 parts per billion of benzene at 23 feet
below'surface grade(bsg)and 150 parts per million of toluene at 5 feet bsg. (The results cited here
are from in a PHS/EHD letter.) Filed Unauthorized Release Report(90-U18)and Prop 65 were
filed.
02/26/90 Entered site into Local Program Oversight LOP
g ' (LOP) i.
04/05/90 Responsible party was advised in a letter that further investigation is required.
11/08/91 Reviewed latest ownership information in the assessor's list. Both Jim Paige and Bill Watkins
(current property owner)were named as responsible parties.
10/27/95 Mailed to RP a"Notice of Reimbursement"was mailed to the responsible parties requesting
additional work to delineate the contamination at the site.
01/23/96 Advanced 6 soil borings(B 1 to B6)to 30 feet below surface grade(bsg). Depth of the
groundwater was initially measured at 27 feet bsg,and has since to 14 feet bsg by 2001. Historical
low groundwater(1997)in the area was about 45 feet bsg.
03/06/96 Received results of the soil boring samples. Analytical results of the soil sample from B-1 at 25
feet bsg were 220 mg/kg of total petroleum hydrocarbon as gasoline(TPH-g)were found in.
Analytical results of the grab groundwater from B3 were 5,800 ug/l of TPH-g,4,000µg/1 of TPH-
diesel, 160µg/l of benzene, and 570µg11 of xylenes were found in. Analytical results of the grab
groundwater from B6 were 200µg/l of TPH-diesel.
12/19/98 Three soil samples were collected beneath,former product piping and dispenser. {
li
01/15/99 Both'UST and product piping were removed from the site and transported to West Coast i
Equipment in Turlock,California. 4 soil samples were collected beneath the UST,and six soil
samples were collected from the stockpile. Results of the soil sample from product pipe No. 1 were
0.14 mg/kg of tert-butanol(TBA).
04/08/99 Four monitoring wells(MW-1 through MW-4)with screen section between 10 feet bsg and 30 feet
bsg set were installed at the site.
1999 to 2000 6 quarters of groundwater samplings were conducted at the site. Groundwater results were not
detect for MW-1 to MW-4. However, low concentrations of TPH-g and TPH-d have been detected
in MW-3 for the past two quarters. Concentrations were 260 4g/i and 330µg11 for TPH-g and 350
and 450µg/l for TPH-d. Highest concentration of aromatic hydrocarbons ever recorded was 0.82
µg11 of toluene. Highest concentration of methyl tertiary butyl ether(MTBE)was 43 pg/l. TPH g
results were annotated-as having sample peaks within the heavier gasoline compound range,
perhaps`indicating aged gasoline.
06/08/00 Reported no receptor wells found within 2000 feet of the site in a well survey.
02/05/01 Calculated remaining mass of diesel in soil. Mass was not calculated for groundwater since the
results were consistently not detect or low.
04/17/01 Received Certified list of record fee title owners e
05/08/01 Submitted site to CVRWQCB for concurrence of closure.
14
I
Ik+
