30 October 2000
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0197
' 3.2. ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH-g and TPH-d, detected only in ground water sample MW-3, was present at concentrations of
330 ,ug/1 and 450 ,ug/l, respectively.
BTEX compounds were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the ground water samples.
MTBE was detected by EPA method 8260M in sample MW-3 at 1.7 yg/l.No other fuel oxygenates
were detected in any of the ground water samples.
' The analytical results of quarterly ground water samples are summarized in Table 2. The laboratory
report (McCampbell Analytical Inc. Lab I.D. No. 48682 through 48685) and chain-of-custody form
are included in Appendix B.
' 4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon data collected during the September 2000 monitoring event, AGE concludes:
Ground water flow at the site was toward the northeast which is consistent with the June
2000 monitoring event and regional trends. The calculated hydraulic gradient indicates that
' the ground water table is nearly flat (0.001 feet/feet). The ground water elevation has
decreased approximately 1.17 feet since the June 2000 sampling event.
' o TPH-g concentrations increased from 260 µg/1 to 330 µg/1 in the ground water samplev
collected from MW-3 since the June 2000 monitoring eent_
• TPH-d concentrations increased from 350 µg/1 to 450 ,ug/1 in the ground water sample
' collected from MW-3 since the June 2000 monitoring event.
• MTBE was detected in sample MW-3, however, the concentrations detected were only at
trace levels (1.8 ,ug/l of MTBE).
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based upon the results of this investigation,AGE recommends this site be considered for closure due
' to the low to non detectable concentrations of contaminants in the soil and ground water underlying
the site.
1
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
