r • 23 December 1999 AGE-NC Project No. 95-0197 Page 4 of 4 • -MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4 are "properly screened", and yield samples fully representative of shallow ground water conditions. • The dissolved petroleum hydrocarbon plume appears to be sufficienily contained within the current array of ground water monitoring wells. • Dissolved TPH-g and BTEX compounds do not appear to be significant in the area bound by wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4. • Very low concentrations of dissolved MTBE appear to be present near the area of MW-2. 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS Based upon the results of this investigation, AGE recommends:. • Preparation of a work plan for two additional soil probe borings at the site, northwest and southeast of the former southwest fuel dispenser island area,to delineate adsorbed petroleum hydrocarbon impact; the work plan should also include collection of"grab" ground water , samples to address the dissolved MTBE plume northeast and east of MW-2. • Reduction of quarterly monitoring/sampling events to annual monitoring/sampling events until the site receives a site closure. A search for all potential ground water receptors within a 2,000-foot radius of the site,which will be required for the site closure summary report. 6.0. LIMITATIONS• Our professional services were performed using that degree.of care and skill ordinarily exercised by environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities. The findings were based mainly upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory. Evaluations of the geologic/hydro- geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number of available data points (e.g. ground water monitoring, ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points.
