07/09/1998 16:17 2813628381 EPI PAGE 02
ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE, INC.
A Strategic FnvironmentarManagement Company
July 9, 1998
Ms. Margaret Lagodo
San Joaquin County PHS-EHD
304 E. Weber Street, Third Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Dear Margaret:
Thanks for your call earlier this afternoon. The following are the details of the soil
borings to be conducted at 3632 Duck Creek Drive in Stockton. The purpose of the
borings are strictly for due diligence purposes. Our client, the potential purchaser of
the company operated on the site, has contracted us to determine whether there has
been any impact to the subsurface from the current or past operations. We do these
limited invasive work routinely as part of our due diligence process.
The soil borings will be advanced using a hollow-stem auger. All drilling equipment will
be steam cleaned prior to drilling to prevent any borehole contamination. Soil samples
will be collected from selected intervals during the soil boring installation using a
stainless steel, split-spoon sampling device. After describing the lithology, the soil
samples will be split for laboratory analysis. Should groundwater be encountered, a
sample will be taken as well for analysis. The bore hole will be filled with the native
material and then grouted using standard grouting procedure.
Soil samples selected for analysis will be shipped to a laboratory. These samples will
be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbon, PAHs (EPA method 8270) and VOCs
(EPA method 8260). The purpose of these analyses is to determine if there is any
historical contamination in the soil related to the use of petroleum hydrocarbons or
organic solvents.
I hope the above description details the activities proposed in our permit application
We appreciate your assistance in this matter. Should you have any questions, please
do not hesitate to contact me at (281) 362-8377.
SincerelyL'p,
Sach Prasad
2202 Timberloch Place,Suite 250 4 The Woodlands,Texas 77380
Phone.(713)362-8377 e Fax:pi 3)362-8381 0 E-Mail:ep4phoemx.net
