Muriel Jones- 31448 South Hwy. 33 <br /> 2.2 Monitoring Well Installation <br /> To further investigate the lateral and vertical extent of gasoline and kerosene range petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater environments_ Geological Technics Inc, proposes <br /> to install five additional shallow groundwater monitoring wells surrounding the known <br /> plume area and one discretely screened deeper monitoring well (Figure 2 Site Mapy <br /> Based on the seven months of groundwater measurements and gradient calculation, the <br /> groundwater exhibits a predominately north direction of flow. <br /> • The five new shallow wells (MW-4, 5, 6, 7 & 8) will be placed in a manner that will <br /> provide upgradient,perpendicular to gradient,and down gradient definitions of the lateral <br /> extent of groundwater contamination. <br /> • The one new deeper well (MW-101)will be placed down gradient of the source near well <br /> MW-2. <br /> Refer to the attached site map for proposed well Iocations. <br /> 3.0 SIGNATURE AND CERTMCA'nON <br /> It is expected that this project be performed in accordance with accepted geologic and <br /> hydrologic standards of the State of California accepted and in effect at the time of this <br /> investigation.
