Weber Ave., 3`d Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
RE: Response to September 15, 2000 letter from SJC PHS/EHD
George's Service, 1600 W. Durham Ferry Road, Tracy, CA.
PHS/FHD Site Code: 1550
Dear Ms. Heran:
In a September 15, 2000, correspondence regarding the above site, your staff requested a
cost breakdown for our proposed remedial activities (reference: Ms. Carol Oz's September
15,2000 letter, page 2, paragraph#7).
Our company's Vice President, Mr. Raynold Kablanow, contacted Mr. Allen Patton who is
the manager of the State Water Resources Control Board's Underground Storage Tank
Cleanup Fund Program (USTCFP). Mr. Kablanow expressed his concern to Mr. Patton
that certain San Joaquin County PHS/EHD staff engage in environmental consulting work
in the private sector. This situation suggests that we must provide confidential financial
information to potential business competitors placing us at an unfair business advantage.
Mr. Patton was sensitive to our concerns and suggested that we write you a letter and
inform you that we will not submit cost data relevant to our mitigation sites in San Joaquin
County. In accordance with Mr. Patton's suggestion, this letter is to inform you that we
will not now, nor in the future, submit to PHS/EHD cost data relevant to our mitigation
sites in San Joaquin County. Please be advised that the relevant data is being provided to.
the USTCFP in accordance with their applicable rules and regulations.
