Access to drilling locations will require closure of a portion of the west bound lane of Durham Ferry Road, east of South Ahern Road (Hwy 33) and west of South Koster Road. Traffic control measures will be necessary in order to ensure the safety of vehicular traffic travelling within the work zone, as well as for the safety of the workers and other personnel on site. Figure 1 includes a vicinity map of the project site. 2.0 TRAFFIC CONTROL Personnel and Site Conditions All workers will wear brightly colored vests (orange and/or fluorescent yellow). All workers will undergo a safety meeting addressing traffic safety issues. Pedestrians will be kept 25 feet from the work area. 1 Lane 2 Way Traffic Control Traffic control has been proposed in accordance with California Department of Transportation Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD). Traffic will be controlled by a nagger at each end of the work space with the easternmost nagger being designated as the coordinator. Each flagger will be given a red flag. The red flag will be ,given to the driver of the last vehicle proceeding into the one lane section. The driver will be instructed to give the red flag to the nagger at the other end so the opposite flagger will know that it is safe to allow traffic to move in the other direction.
