• i <br /> GeologicafTechni� Inc. <br /> 2741-T,iver Road <br /> Mo&sw,Caq=ta 95351 <br /> (209)538-6424/FaX#538-5852 <br /> Repoirt <br /> Soi➢ and GrouQndwaleu- Envesflgaldon <br /> Geoirge's Service <br /> 1600 Durham }Ferry Rd. <br /> ' rzey, California <br /> Project No 425 2 <br /> November 30, 1998 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> The site, located at the intersection of Highway 33 and Durham Ferry Road, has been owned <br /> and operated by George and Mei Teranisha since the 1940's as an automobile repair facility <br /> and market Up till 1990, when the tanks were removed, gasoline was sold at the site <br /> The site has been undergoing site characterization work since 1995 by Del Tech Geotechnical <br /> Support Services A total of eight borings and 3 monitoring wells have been conducted on <br /> the site In summary, elevated levels of petroleum hydrocarbons have been detected on the <br /> northern and western sides of the property <br /> In January of 1997 Geological Technics Inc (GTI) contracted with Mr and Mrs Teranishi to <br /> provide additional site characterization work regarding the definition of the lateral and <br /> vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil and groundwater A work plan <br /> addendum for installation of sax monitoring wells was submitted on January 20, 1997 and <br /> approved by Ms Mary Meays of San Joaquin County PHS/EHD on February 3, 1997 The <br /> installation of the sax wells was conducted on April 29 & 30, 1997 <br /> GTI submitted a work plan for the further vertical definition of the site on October 3, 1997 <br /> Carol Oz of SJC PHS/EHD approved at on April 1, 1998 On June 29 through July 1, 1998 <br /> two intermediate depth wells and one deep well were installed on the site <br /> 2.0 SCOPE OF INVIESTIGATION <br /> The purpose of this investigation was to <br /> o describe the geologic units beneath this site <br /> 0 determine the vertical groundwater gradient <br /> o further define the lateral and vertical extent of soil and groundwater impacted with <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> • <br />
