CjeologicaL2'ecFrnus Inc Page 4
Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 425 2
November 17, 1997
The detection limits for the above analyses are listed in Table 3 of Appendix A and the lab
data is presented in Appendix B
1.4
Free Product Removal
Mr Teranishi removed the floating gasoline from MW-2 an a regular basis from November
1, 1996 through January 16, 1997 A total of 30 plus gallons of gasoline/water mix have
been removed by hand bailing methods Free product has not been observed in wells at this
site since June 1996
2.0 FINDENGS AND DISCUSSION
Floating product was not observed in MW-2 during this sampling event The laboratory
analytical data from this monitoring event shows that gasoline range petroleum hydrocarbons
continue to be detected in wells MW-1, MW-2, MW-4, MW-5 and MW-102
The results from the latest round of sampling are comparable with the results from the past
. P g P
monitoring events Concentrations in MW-1 showed the lowest levels yet recorded in
samples from that well Concentrations in MW-2 showed a significant increase from the past
monitoring event Floating product was not observed in this well during the monitoring
event however September of 1996 is when floating product was first observed in MW-2
Concentrations in MW-4 stayed relatively consistent with the past monitoring event MW-5
and MW-102 showed decreases since the May 1997 event
MTBE was detected in MW-I and MW-5, both wells were just above detection limits None
of the other fuel oxygenates were detected in water samples from any of the wells
The three domestic wells associated with the site were all non-detect for BTEX, TPH-G and
the oxygenates
3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The followingconclusions have been drawn regarding the status of the groundwater at this
g g
Isite and recommendations for future work
Conclusions
1 Petroleum hydrocarbons are present in five of the nine monitoring wells
2 The shallow water table groundwater plume is laterally defined except to the west
3 Free floating gasoline was not present in MW-2 in September 1997
