ClealvgredTeemmcs Inc. Page 3
Groundwater Monitoring Report
Project No 2812
December 18, 1996
I A chain of custody document, listing all samples collected and their intended analyses,
accompanied the samples from field to the laboratory, thereby providing a means to track
their movement and insure their integrity
1.3 Laboratory Analyses
ses
The groundwater samples collected on September 11, 1996 were delivered to Sherwood Lab
(Department of Health Services Certification No 1400), of Hilmar, California, for analysis
The samples were analyzed using the following methods
0 method 602 - benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylene (BTEX), and MTBE,
® method m8015/LUFT-total volatile hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G)
The detection limits for the above analyses are listed in Table 2 of Appendix A and the lab
data is presented in Appendix B
1.4 Yree Product Removal
Mr Terarushi removed the floating gasoline from MW-2 an a daily basis from September 12,
1996 through October 31, 1996 Refer to the field log in Appendix C A total of 60 plus
gallons of gasoline/water mix have been removed by hand bailing methods
2.0 IFIINII GS AND ➢DESCUSSION
Floating product was observed in MW-2 (approximately 1 foot) during this sampling event.
The laboratory analytical data from this monitoring event shows that gasoline range
petroleum hydrocarbons continue to be detected in wells MW-1 & 2 The sample from well
MW-3 did not contain petroleum hydrocarbons
The latest round of sampling shows a shift in the groundwater plume compared to May 1995
sampling event (refer to summary Table 2 in Appendix A) It is not clear if the shift in the
plume is related to the changes in the groundwater elevation (about 3 feet from March 1996
to July 1996) or the slight change in direction of groundwater flow Additional wells and
groundwater monatoring are sure to bring us a better understanding
3.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
The following conclusions have been drawn regarding the status of the groundwater at this
sight and recommendations for future work
