2.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based on the work completed during this investigation, the following Conclusions and <br /> ** Recommendations were developed <br /> 1 Underground Storage 'Wanks / Northern Perimeter - Gasoline <br /> The removal of the gasoline tanks indicated that an unauthorized release of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons had been released into the soil and due to the shallow depth to water the <br /> groundwater has been impacted The sod bonngs installed in this area out to the <br /> properties northern boundaries indicate elevated levels of petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> e (SB-1, SB-2, HB-4, HB-6, MW-1 AND MW-2) <br /> ** Additional soil bonngs to define the limits of the vadose contamination plume and a <br /> discrete hydropunch water samples are required across the street to the north side of the <br /> site However this area is confined by overhead structures and possible private property <br /> restrictions The installation of handbonngs and collection of water samples through a <br /> modified soil gas survey probe would complete the tasks required and limit the impact <br /> on the adjacent property <br /> Feasibility for the excavation of the impacted soils on site should be evaluated <br />' 2 Undergro=d Storage Tank / Soup hem Peu-!metier - Kerosene <br /> The removal of the kerosene tank indicates that an unauthorized release of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons had been released into the soil However the amount of contamination <br /> initially appears to be limited to low levels in the immediate area The monitoring well <br /> MW-3 indicated a non detect in the water analysis (see Table 3) <br />' ** Additional soil bonngs to define the limits of the vadose contamination and the feasibility <br /> for the excavation of these impacted soils should be evaluated <br /> I3 Summary - Additional site assessment <br />' o The extent of the vadose contamination plume to the northern and <br /> western perimeter of the site <br />' o The extent of the contamination plume within the groundwater in the <br /> northern, western and eastern perimeters <br /> George Service Pg 4 <br />
