2.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the work completed during this investigation, the following Conclusions and
** Recommendations were developed
1 Underground Storage 'Wanks / Northern Perimeter - Gasoline
The removal of the gasoline tanks indicated that an unauthorized release of petroleum
hydrocarbons had been released into the soil and due to the shallow depth to water the
groundwater has been impacted The sod bonngs installed in this area out to the
properties northern boundaries indicate elevated levels of petroleum hydrocarbons
e (SB-1, SB-2, HB-4, HB-6, MW-1 AND MW-2)
** Additional soil bonngs to define the limits of the vadose contamination plume and a
discrete hydropunch water samples are required across the street to the north side of the
site However this area is confined by overhead structures and possible private property
restrictions The installation of handbonngs and collection of water samples through a
modified soil gas survey probe would complete the tasks required and limit the impact
on the adjacent property
Feasibility for the excavation of the impacted soils on site should be evaluated
' 2 Undergro=d Storage Tank / Soup hem Peu-!metier - Kerosene
The removal of the kerosene tank indicates that an unauthorized release of petroleum
hydrocarbons had been released into the soil However the amount of contamination
initially appears to be limited to low levels in the immediate area The monitoring well
MW-3 indicated a non detect in the water analysis (see Table 3)
' ** Additional soil bonngs to define the limits of the vadose contamination and the feasibility
for the excavation of these impacted soils should be evaluated
I3 Summary - Additional site assessment
' o The extent of the vadose contamination plume to the northern and
western perimeter of the site
' o The extent of the contamination plume within the groundwater in the
northern, western and eastern perimeters
George Service Pg 4
