2.0 INTRODUCTION
MONITORING WELL &
SOIL BORING PLAN
As a point venture Del Tech Geotechnical Support (DEL TECH) and Geolgical Technics Inc has
been retained by Georges Service to prepare and implement this workplan This workplan is a
preliminary investigation designed in scope to evaluate and identify the extent of the subsurface
conditions at the site Don Light, Engineering Contractor #657366 of Del-Tech will be Project
Manager and Ray Kablanow, PhD R G of Geological Technics will be the supervising
Registered Geologist during all of the activities of this workplan
2.1 Proposed Investigative Actions
This workplan is being presented as a continued step towards the goal of achieving a County-
approved site closure at Georges Service Specifically, this workplan addresses the installation
of soil borings that will be drilled around the former gasoline underground storage tank (#1 and
#2) locations and in and around the former kerosene tank #4 location Upon reviewing the
inspection reports of tanks #1,#2 & #4, it is evident that these borings are needed to define the
extent of the soil contamination and to determine if the groundwater has been effected There
is currently no geologic or groundwater chemical data on the any of the areas in question The
overall depth of these bonngs is expected to be about 12 feet or to the capillary fringe In
addition, we are also proposing the installation of three monitoring wells (see Figure 2) These
monitoring wells are being installed to monitor site specific hydrology, and verify the maximum
extent of the groundwater's plume, if any Monitoring of the gradient at the site will also be
benificial for future evaluations Surface topography suggests that the predominate flow of the
groundwater is in a northeasterly direction
3
