CLEARWATER <br /> G R O U P, [ N C. <br /> En of ronuienta!Services <br /> Augers will be steam cleaned between use and samplers will be cleaned by a wash of <br /> alconox wash followed by double rinse in clean tap water to prevent cross- <br /> contamination. Rinseate will be stored on-site in labeled 55-gallons drums pending <br /> future removal and disposal. Ij <br /> i <br /> Soil cuttings generated from drilling will be stored on-site in labeled 55-gallon <br /> drums or enveloped in visqueen, pending future removal and disposal. <br /> Following completion of drilling activities, Clearwater will supervise construction 7 <br /> of a well within the borehole. The vapor well will be constructed with clean, 4-inch <br /> diameter, flush threaded, Schedule 40, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) blank casing from <br /> the ground-surface to 5 feevbgs and ,0.020-inch slotted casing from 5 to 15 feet bgs. <br /> The annular space will be filled with clean" uniform sand from the bottom of the <br /> borehole to a depth of 4 feet bgs (one foot above the screen). A two-foot thick <br /> hydrated bentonite seal will be placed above the sandpack, and the remaining i <br /> annular space above the seal will be filled with grout. The top of the well casing will <br /> be fitted with a water tight expansion plug, and a tamper resistant box will be <br /> concreted -in place over the well. The dimensions of well construction as described <br /> above are approximate and may vary according to conditions in the field. Proposed <br /> well construction details are shown on Figure 2. <br /> Reporting <br /> Results of-well installation activities will be presented in a brief letter report. The <br /> report will summarize well installation methodology, soil conditions observed <br /> during drilling, and as-built dimensions of the well.
