Cotulla, REHS, Program Manager Environmental Health Division Dear Miss Cotulla: Receipt is acknowledged of your letter dated March 8 , 1993 , received on March 15 , 1993 , relative to the above captioned, and addressed to the Estate of Eugene Hiett, to my attention, as Attorney for the Estate . In that letter, you state that Eugene Hiett was named as a responsible party for the clean up of petroleum contamination which resulted from leaking underground storage tanks that were operated during his ownership . Since Mr . Hiett is deceased, PHS/EHD is naming the estate of Eugene Hiett as an additional responsible party . On behalf of the Executrix of the former estate of Eugene Hiett, we must deny any liability for your claim or to concede the legality of your procedure . The administration of this estate has now been con- cluded with the exception of the final adjudication of the claim of Mr . and Mrs . Ruiz , which is set for trial on May 26 , 1993 . Your organization was aware of the death of Mr . Hiett and I am enclosing herewith, for your file and information, a copy of your letter dated July 23 , 1992 , stating that you had been notified of the death of Mr .
