CLEARWATER <br /> C. R 0 L P I N C <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Clearwater Group, Inc (Clearwater) has been retained by Mrs Stella Ruiz for the <br /> purposes of completing site characterization activities at her property in Tracy, <br /> California A site investigation had been previously initiated by other consultants <br />' in relation to the evaluation of the extent of migration of a subsurface release of fuel <br /> hydrocarbons from underground storage tanks <br />' 2.0 BACKGROUND <br />' The site is currently occupied by a grocery store, which formerly stored and <br /> dispensed motor fuel from underground storage tanks located beneath the <br /> southwestern corner of the property A site assessment was initiated several years <br /> ago, with the most recent phase of investigative activity consisting of the drilling of <br /> several soil borings, the collection of discrete water samples from the borings, and <br /> the construction of several groundwater monitoring wells and three vapor <br />' extraction wells The results of these activities have been presented in reports <br /> prepared by Delta Environmental Consultants and RESNA <br /> 3.0 L U112®SE <br /> Data collected during the investigation to date indicates that the lateral extent of <br /> hydrocarbons in groundwater has been defined In accordance with a course of <br /> action previously established and approved by San Joaquin County, the next phase <br /> of site characterization is to include the collection of data pertaining to the physical <br /> characteristics of the vadose and water bearing zones in the local subsurface This <br /> data collection will be made possible through the completion of soil vapor <br /> extraction and groundwater pumping tests The vapor extraction wells to be used <br /> during this test have already been installed by RESNA <br /> Clearwater will also incorporate an air sparging study into this phase of pilot testing <br /> The air sparging test wells will be installed in conjunction with the aquifer test well <br /> The purpose of this workplan is the presentation of the details associated with the <br /> proposed test well installation, the execution of the pilot tests, and the <br /> evaluation/reporting of the resulting data <br /> D-107/PILOT TEST wP 1 <br />
