CLEARWATER
C. R 0 L P I N C
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Clearwater Group, Inc (Clearwater) has been retained by Mrs Stella Ruiz for the
purposes of completing site characterization activities at her property in Tracy,
California A site investigation had been previously initiated by other consultants
' in relation to the evaluation of the extent of migration of a subsurface release of fuel
hydrocarbons from underground storage tanks
' 2.0 BACKGROUND
' The site is currently occupied by a grocery store, which formerly stored and
dispensed motor fuel from underground storage tanks located beneath the
southwestern corner of the property A site assessment was initiated several years
ago, with the most recent phase of investigative activity consisting of the drilling of
several soil borings, the collection of discrete water samples from the borings, and
the construction of several groundwater monitoring wells and three vapor
' extraction wells The results of these activities have been presented in reports
prepared by Delta Environmental Consultants and RESNA
3.0 L U112®SE
Data collected during the investigation to date indicates that the lateral extent of
hydrocarbons in groundwater has been defined In accordance with a course of
action previously established and approved by San Joaquin County, the next phase
of site characterization is to include the collection of data pertaining to the physical
characteristics of the vadose and water bearing zones in the local subsurface This
data collection will be made possible through the completion of soil vapor
extraction and groundwater pumping tests The vapor extraction wells to be used
during this test have already been installed by RESNA
Clearwater will also incorporate an air sparging study into this phase of pilot testing
The air sparging test wells will be installed in conjunction with the aquifer test well
The purpose of this workplan is the presentation of the details associated with the
proposed test well installation, the execution of the pilot tests, and the
evaluation/reporting of the resulting data
D-107/PILOT TEST wP 1
