This task
involves the extraction of groundwater from the test well at varying rates, with the
purpose being the determination of the most appropriate extraction rate for the
longer term pumping test. It is anticipated that this endeavor will take
approximately four hours, and should involve no more than four or five "steps"
The first step will use a groundwater extraction rate of 0 5 gallons per minute (gpm)
Water will be pumped at this rate until the water level in the extraction well
stabilizes, at which time the test will be taken to the next step It is anticipated that
' the steps will progress in half gallon intervals, though field observations may
necessitate a modification to this plan The test will continue until observations
indicate that an optimal pumping rate has been obtained Ideally, this optimal rate
should result in a sustainable yield with approximately 10-15 feet of water
D-107/PILOT TEST WP 3
