A portion of the reimbursement monies will <br /> be used to fund insurance bonds required by San Joaquin County Public Works Department <br /> to install offsite monitoring wells After funding has been obtained, Ruiz Grocery will install <br /> one additional onsite and three offsite monitoring wells in an effort to establish the limit of <br /> dissolved hydrocarbons in groundwater and to monitor groundwater upgradient and lateral <br /> of know hydrocarbons in soil Once the extent of hydrocarbons has been assessed, a <br /> Problem Assessment Report will be prepared and activities leading to site remediation will <br /> begin. <br /> CONCLUSE®NS AND RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Free-phase hydrocarbons were detected in well MW-1, and dissolved hydrocarbons were <br /> detected in well MW-2 The reported concentration of benzene exceeds the Maximum <br /> Contaminant Level (MCL) for drinking water of 1 ppb Hydrocarbons were in well MW-3 <br /> during this sampling event The groundwater flow direction was to the northeast. We <br /> recommend continuing quarterly monitoring <br /> .
