Ms. Goldberg <br /> At the request of Ms Stella Ruiz (RUIZ) and Neumiller and Beardslee (N&B), <br /> representing RUIZ, RESNA Industries Inc (RESNA) conducted an investigation of soil and <br /> groundwater at the subject site (shown on Plate 1). The investigation consisted of drilling <br /> six soil borings that were used to collect soil and groundwater samples, and three soil <br /> borings that were converted to vapor extraction wells The purpose of this investigation was <br /> to further evaluate hydrocarbons in groundwater and the lateral and vertical extent of <br /> hydrocarbons in soil <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> According to information provided by N&.B, the site is located on an approximately 650- by <br /> 700-foot parcel of land at the northwest corner of Durham Ferry Road and Bird Road, 7 5 <br /> miles from Tracy The grocery store occupies a former gasoline service station that had one <br /> dispenser island and two 1,000-gallon underground storage tanks, unleaded and leaded <br /> gasoline were dispensed from one dispenser island <br /> Information supplied to us indicates that three monitoring wells were installed at the site <br /> and that dissolved gasoline hydrocarbons were detected in groundwater samples from the <br /> wells In April 1993, groundwater beneath the site was 15 to 16 feet below surface grade, <br /> I <br /> 1215bnn/123020 01 <br />
