CLEARWATER <br /> Ear tlOn rtr,rtlul JeTPIGCs <br /> to be monitored for several quarters to evaluate post-remediation trends in residual groundwater contaminants and that <br /> confirmation soil borings would be required in the future to demonstrate remediation of the vadose zone <br /> The mobile catalytic oxidizer was removed from the site in October 1999 However, all vapor e-traction piping remains <br /> in the ground and the above ground manifold was secured for potential use in the future(Figure 2) <br /> 2.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING - FOURTH QUARTER 1999 <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted in accordance with requirements set forth by the SJCPHS(EHD All field <br /> activities were conducted in accordance with Clearwater's Groundwater Monitoring and Field Procedures (Appendix A) <br /> 21 Field Activities and Laboratory Methods <br /> The following is a summary of field activities conducted during quarterly groundwater monitoring at the site <br /> o Date sampled 11/2/99 <br /> Wells monitored MW-1,MW-2, and Domestic Well(DW) <br /> o Analytes tested TPHg, BTEX, and MTBE <br /> e Analytical methods EPA Methods 8015 (modified) and 8020 <br /> a Laboratory Entech Analytical Labs,Inc , Sunnyvale CA (CA ELAP#2224) <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted in accordance with the schedule proposed in Clearwater's Groundwater and <br /> Remediation System Operation Monitoring Report- First Quarter 1999 dated April 5, 1999 Wells were purged prior to <br /> collection of groundwater samples Clearwater gauging and well purging data sheets are included in Appendix B <br /> 2 2 Groundwater Monitoring Results <br /> Results of fourth quarter 1999 groundwater monitoring and sampling are summarized below <br /> • Depth to groundwater Ranged from 15 83 (MW-3) to 17 44(MW-7)feet below top of casing <br /> • Flow direction/gradient Northeasterly at 0 001 ft/ft <br /> • SPH-wells/thickness No SPH present <br /> • TPHg concentrations <50 gg/L(DW)to 990 pg/L(MW-2) <br /> • Benzene concentrations <0 5 pg/L(DW) to 13 pg/L(MW-1) <br /> • MTBE concentrations <0 5 pg/L(DW)to 150 pg1L(MW-2) <br /> D-107 4Q99 GW&WP Confumauon Bonngs 2 November 15 1999 <br />
