CLEA ER <br /> G R 0 L P [ \ C <br /> Cnz rronmentnl Serrice, <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> Thus report, submitted by Clearwater Group,Inc (Clearwater)on behalf of Ruiz Grocery, pertains to activities conducted <br /> at the Ruiz Grocery located at 4491 West Durham Ferry Road in Tracy,California(Figure 1) The report summarizes the <br /> results of quarterly groundwater monitoring, and the operation of a soil vapor extraction (SVE) / air sparge (AS) <br /> remediation system for the third quarter of 1999 <br /> 1.1 Site Background <br /> Two gasoline USTs and dispensers were removed from the site in 1988 Seven monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW- <br /> 7), one groundwater recovery well (RW-1), four soil vapor extraction wells (VW-1 through VW-4), and two air sparge <br /> wells (SW-1 and SW-2) have been installed at the site A domestic well(DW),screened in a deeper water bearing zone, <br /> also exists at the site (Table 1) The extent of soil and water contamination has been delineated Pilot testing has been <br /> completed and a remedial action plan prepared based on results <br /> In late summer 1998, a remediation system was installed at the site The system consists of soil vapor extraction and air <br /> sparging components Wells RW-1,MW-1,MW-2 and VW-1 through VW-4 are used to extract soil vapors, which are <br /> treated by an electric catalytic oxidizer An air blower is used to deliver air to the subsurface via wells SW-1 and SW-2 <br /> The system became operational on October 7, 1998 <br /> • Corrective action at the site is currently being performed under the supervision of San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services 1 Environmental Health Division (SJCPHS/EHD) <br /> 2.0 GROUNDWATER MON1TTORbNG <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted in accordance with requirements set forth by the SJCPHS/EHD All field <br /> activities were conducted in accordance with Clearwater's Groundwater Monitoring and Field Procedures(Appendix A) <br /> 2.1 Field Activities <br /> The following is a summary of field activities conducted during quarterly groundwater monitonng at the site <br /> • Date sampled 8113199 <br /> • Weiss monitored MW-1,MW-2,and Domestic Well (DW) <br /> • Analytes tested TPHg, BTEX, and MTBE <br /> • Analytical methods EPA Methods 8015 (modified)and 8020 <br /> • Laboratory Entech Analytical Labs,Inc, Sunnyvale,CA(CA ELAP#2224) <br /> • <br /> D-107 3Q99 GW&Sys Mon Report i September 29 1999 <br />
