CLEARWATER G R O U P I N C Envrronmtntof Services 1.0 INTRODUCTION This report, submitted by Clearwater Group, Inc (Clearwater) on behalf of Ruiz Grocery, pertains to activities conducted at the Ruiz Grocery located at 4491 West Durham Ferry Road in Tracy, California (Figure 1) The ' report summarizes the results of quarterly groundwater monitoring, and the operation of a soil vapor extraction (SVE)I air sparge(AS) remediation system for the first quarter of 1999 1.1 Site Background Two gasoline USTs and dispensers were removed from the site in 1988 Seven monitoring wells (MW-1 ' through MW-7), one groundwater recovery well (RW-1), four soil vapor extraction wells (VW-1 through VW- 4), and two air sparge wells (SW-1 and SW-2)have been installed at the site A domestic well (DW), screened ' in a deeper water bearing zone, also exists at the site (Table 1) The extent of soil and water contamination has been delineated Pilot testing has been completed and a remedial action plan prepared based on results ' In late summer 1998, a remediation system was installed at the site The system consisted of a soil vapor extraction and air sparging components Wells RW-1, MW-1, MW-2 and VW-1 through VW-4 are used to lie extract soil vapors, which are treated by an electric catalytic oxidizer An air compressor is used to deliver air to the subsurface via wells SW-1 and SW-2 The system became operational on October 7, 1998 Corrective action at the site is currently being performed under the supervision of San Joaquin County Public Health Services I Environmental Health Division(SJCPHS/EHD) ' 2.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING - FIRST QUARTER 1999 Groundwater monitoring was conducted in accordance with requirements set forth by the SJCPHS/EHD All field activities were conducted in accordance with Clearwater's Groundwater Monitoring and Field Procedures ' (Appendix A) r D-107 1999 GW & Sys Mon Report 1 Apnl 5, 1999
