CLEARWATER <br />' G R 0 L P I \ C <br /> Envnunrrrrntal Serrrrrs <br /> fThe general groundwater flow direction and gradient for this quarter (Figure 3) were similar to <br /> conditions previously observed at the site <br /> The extent of dissolved-phase gasoline contamination remains well delineated by the existing <br /> monitoring well network (Figure 4) Contaminant concentrations this quarter generally appear to <br /> have remained stable (MW-1) or decreased slightly (MW-2) from those detected in during the <br /> quarter since the start of the SVE/AS system in early October 1998 <br /> Groundwater monitoring data and analytical results are presented in Table 1, and laboratory <br /> analytical reports are attached in Appendix C <br /> 3.0 SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION AND .AIR SPARGE SYSTEM <br /> The SVE/AS system design includes seven wells plumbed for vapor extraction (VW-1 to VW-4, <br /> MW-1, MW-2, and RW-1), and two wells plumbed for air sparging (SW-1 and SW-2) (Figure 2) <br /> The remediation system was constructed in nud 1998 in accordance with Clearwater's Problem <br /> Assessment Report, Feasibility Study, and Remedial Action Plan dated February 21, 1996, <br /> Revised Remedial Action Plan dated November 12, 1996, and Constructions Specifications dated <br /> March 28, 1997 The system was tested on September 28, 1998 for initial compliance testing <br /> according to the SJVUAPCD ATC pernut #N-3868-1-0 (Appendix D) Mr Craig Mitchell, the <br /> SJVUAPCD representative, was present on-site to witness verification testing Results of the <br /> verification testing indicated that the system was operating witlun compliance of the permit, and the <br /> remediation system was restated for full operation on October 7, 1998 Results of initial system <br /> testing were presented in Clearwater's letter report dated October 1, 1998 <br /> 3.1 Operational Data -- Soil Vapor Extraction and Treatment <br /> Petroleum hydrocarbon vapors extracted from soil and groundwater are treated by a Solleco ECAT <br />' 250 all electric catalytic oxidizer(catox) <br /> D-107 4Q98 GW & Sys Mon Report 3 January 27, 1999 <br />
