r y
Mr. Harlin Knoll,SJCEHD June 18,2007
Well Installation Work Plan
A. Teichert and Sons Property, Stockton,CA
Page 8
have historically been reported for samples collected from boring CPT-8 (on-site) and
boring CPT-13 (off-site) at approximately 72 feet bgs. CPT testing appears to'indicate
that sandy soil situated above approximately 75 feet bgs comprise the uppermost water
bearing interval in this portion of the site. Stratus is proposing to complete 3
groundwater monitoring wells across these sandy strata, in the general areas where the
highest 1,2-DCA concentrations have historically been reported.
A sandy interval, approximately 4 to 7 feet in thickness between approximately 88 and 98
feet bgs, appears to be laterally continuous across the site. 1,2-DCA impact was reported
at borings CPT-4 (5.9 Etg/L) and boring CPT-12 (8.2 pg/L) across this stratum. Stratus is
proposing to install a monitoring well across these strata, in the vicinity of boring CPT-12
l where the highest 1,2-DCA impact was noted.
The proposed scope of work has been subdivided into tasks 1 through 4. Details are
provided for the activities associated with each task. All geologic work will be conducted
under the direct supervision of a State of California Registered Geologist or Civil
Engineer and will be conducted in accordance with standards established by the
California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB, .Recommendations for
Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation of Underground Tank Sites, April 2004) and
SJCEHD guidelines. A California-licensed C-57 well driller will perform all soil boring
activities. A copy of Stratus' field practices and procedures that will be utilized during
this work is provided in Appendix A.
Task 1: Pre-field Activities
Following approval of this Work Plan by SJCEHD personnel, the following activities
will be completed:
• Secure a revocable permit and an encroachment permit from the City of Stockton,
• Obtain well installation permits from SJCEHD,
•. Retain and schedule a licensed C-57 drilling contactor,
• Update the health and safety plan for the site,
Mark boring locations and contact Underground Service Alert to locate
underground utilities in the vicinity of the work site, and
i
Notify SJCEHD,the City of Stockton, and Teichert of the scheduled field activities.
KA'eichert\S tockton-103 Vork Planslteichert-well install work plan 06-2007.doc STti'14TUS
I
t
