Teichert and'Son 4-. -April 9, 20087.,:' a_
Claim No. 51
• The source of the UST release has been identified-and removed. ,
• Free-phase product in groundwater has been-removed to the'full extent
practicable, in accordance with the,UST Regulations (Title 23,--CCR,
Section 2655). ro .
Contaminants remaining in the vadose zone cannot migrate in soil vapor
or leach at concentrations that would cause groundwater to exceed water
quality objectives.
• There are no existing supply water su I wells, surface waters or other
receptors threatened by the remaining contaminants in soil or,.
groundwater. ...
•` Pollutants remaining in groundwater do not create or threaten to create
risk to human health and safety, or to future beneficial use(s) of the
groundwater:'
• The plume size is stable and sufficiently delineated in.lateral and vertical
extent and contaniinant'concentrations detected in groundwater show a
decreasing,trend with,time.
In summary, the remaining mass of hydrocarbons in soil and-groundwater is minor, the
extent of contamination is defined, the groundwater plume is shrinking, and Water
Quality Objectives will be achieved in:a few years.
AMENDED 41912008: The Fund received correspondence from San Joaquin County
LOP staff stating they believe additional plume definition should be conducted. The
Fund concurs with the additional plume delineation to support the request for closure
consideration. It is our recommendation that additional plume definition downgradient of
MW=17 be implemented immediately and that regular monitoring be conducted over the
I next hydrologic cycle. Based on the additional plume delineation and subsequent
groundwater sampling, the Fund requests that San Joaquin County consider this site for
} closure, if-appropriate.. The Fund.will review this case in six months.
K_ k arson, P.G. Date -Robert Trommer, C.H.G.'
