h
A.Teichert& Son Mobile Equip Shop 103 N. 'E' St. Stockton, CA.
. SVE Pilot Test Work Plan Feb 1994
1 1.0 Introduction
This work plan describes the planned procedures, methods and equipment utilized for
a soil vapor pilot test at the A. Teichert & Son facility located at 101 North 'E' Street,
Stockton, California. This work plan was requested by Ramos Environmental
I Engineering (Ramos), located in West Sacramento, California on behalf of Teichert.
The pilot test is utilized to collect information on subsurface materials and their
response to vacuum introduced at the ground surface through a screened monitoring
well transecting hydrocarbon impacted soils.
0 Subsequent to authorization from San Joaquin County Department of Environmental
Health (the County), BCR proposes to implement the following scope of work. The
work described below will be completed in accordance with County regulations and
the BCR Standard Procedures included in Appendix A.
I/ o Secure necessary permits from the County
o Advance, sample, develop and construct one 4-inch diameter vapor
extraction/groundwater monitoring well. The well is projected to extend a
minimum of 15 feet beneath the static water table, currently approximately 71
• feet below ground surface. The screened interval will be finalized based on
samples collected during well collection, but is expected to extend from
approximately 45 feet bgs to total depth.
a Complete a soil vapor pilot test including the measurements of air flow,
vacuum, and hydrocarbon constituents. Collect two air samples for analysis of
f total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) as gasoline and benzene, toluene, ethyl
benzene, and xylene isomers (BTEX) by a state-certified analytical laboratory.
o Calculate air flow, radius of influence, and quantities and mass of air and
petroleum hydrocarbons per 24-hour time period. Collect, resolve and report
# sufficient information to design and permit the construction and operation of a
soil vapor extraction system in accordance with applicable regulations.
o Submit a results report documenting the findings of the pilot test and a
Remedial Action Plan containing design elements of the soil vapor extraction
system.
2.0 Background Information and Previous Work
Previous work at the site completed by other parties since 1986 has removed
00 gasoline, diesel, and waste oil underground storage tanks. Samples from the UST
1
