Pestana -- Q-Tip Trust page 2
2360 East St, Tracy.
Work plan comment
COMMENTS AND CONDITIONS (continued):
• Additional vertical/lateral soil and ground water investigation is
needed in the former waste oil UST area. SJCEHD will require
additional borings to be installed and soil and ground water samples
to be collected and analyzed from this area so that delineation
conclusions can be supported.
• An additional soil boring should be placed between each of the
proposed borings and the area to the north of MW-1 and MW-2,just
short of the "commingled pipeline area"described in the work plan.
The migration/dispersion of the historical high levels of petroleum in
the ground water from MW-1 and MW-2 needed further
understanding. By placing an additional boring north of each of
these wells, the undefined soil contamination noted during well
installation and the ground water down gradient of each well can be
evaluated.
• Please provide an adequate number of cross-sections in the Site
Conceptual Model/Report so that the soil lithology and iso-
concentration lines for each chemical detected is mapped. In order
for SJCEHD to evaluate site-specific conditions and the need for
remediation, all of the conclusions (attenuation, migration, mass-
balance, etc) in the report should be supported by lithological and
laboratory data.
• The permit application already submitted will be processed as soon
as SJCEHD receives confirmation from your consultant that the
above noted concerns will be included in this field mobilization.
REASONS FOR DISAPPROVAL OF THE WORKPLAN fH&S Section
25296.1 0(c)(3)1:
• none.
DATED: May 24, 2005 BY
Michael Infurna, S. Barton, Sacramento.
c: SWRCB — CUF -- Mark Owens, Sacramento.
c: Ground Zero Analysis --- John Lane, 1714 Main St, Escalon CA. 95320
jXj faxed to consultant on:_ 5-zclr e.'
Attachment A to addressee and Ground Zero only.-
