Second Quarter 1996 Monitoring and Sampling Report
Former Reeve's Exxon, 2360 East Street, Tracy, California
Dear Mr Infurna-
• This letter report presents the results of the Second Quarter 1996 groundwater monitoring and
sampling at the subject site (Figure 1)
Groundwater monitoring was conducted on June 27, 1996 on wells MW1, MW2, MW3 The
groundwater elevations across the site increased an average of 0.19 feet since the last monitoring
event in June 1995 (Table 1) Figure 2 depicts the groundwater flow direction and hydraulic
gradient on June 27, 1996. Flow direction at the site was generally to the northeast at a gradient
of approximately 0.006 feet/foot Monitoring data are included in Attachment A
On June 27, 1996 after purging at least three casing volumes of groundwater and stabilization
of temperature, pH, and electrical conductivity, samples were collected from each well in
accordance with the site Well Sampling Protocol Samples were analyzed by Argon Laboratories
(FLAP #1873) of Ceres, California for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX)
using EPA method 8020 and total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) using modified
EPA method 8015.
TPHg and BTEX were not present above laboratory method detection limits in well MW3 which
is consistent with data collected during previous monitoring events. TPHg was detected at
concentrations of 70 and 760 parts per billion (ppb) in wells MW1 and MW2, respectively
Benzene was detected at concentrations of 4.8 and 30 ppb, respectively.
gromd=\postma 03612gm19%
