clay between 7 and 8 feet Dark-grey, saturated, fine <br /> silty sand containing a slight fuel hydrocarbon odor was <br /> Present to the bottom of the borehole at 9 feet . <br /> Groundwater was encountered at approximately 7 feet <br /> The soil profile encountered while advancing boring EP-4 <br /> consisted of 6 inches of concrete and gravel underlain by <br /> light-brown, moist silty clay to 3 feet Light brown clay <br /> containing little moisture was present to approximately 5 5 <br /> feet A slight odor , consistent with that of fuel hydro- <br /> carbons was present between 4 5 and 5 . 5 feet Light-olive <br /> colored compacted clay was encountered at 5 5 feet and <br /> continued to approximately 6 75 feet The hydrocarbon-like <br /> odor was intense in this interval .
