Silty clay was present between 6 and 7 feet , and
groundwater--bearing dark-brown silty fine sand was present
below 7 feet . The entire soil profile was free of hydro-
carbon odors . Discrete soil samples were acquired at 5
feet and 8 .0 feet bgs .
Boring EP-7 was located 30 feet south of EP-5 at a point
7 . 25 feet east of the aforementioned boundary fence. The j
configuration of the soil layers encountered beneath the
asphalt and gravel surface layer was different than either
EP-5 or EP-6 . The top 2 feet of soil consisted of dark-
brown silty clay overlaying dark-gray clay to 5 feet bgs .
Dark-olive colored clay was then encountered between 5 and
7 . 5 feet . . .a zone in which a very slight musty odor was
present . The water bearing layer encountered during
drilling was present between 7 . 5 and 9 feet and consisted
of silty fine sand gradually becoming fine sand. Discrete
soil samples were taken at 5 and 7 . 5 feet bgs .
. The results of certified laboratory analyses of discrete
soil and grab water samples from each of the three borings
advanced on July 22 , 1994 are summarized in Tables 3 and 4 '
t
Table 3
Analytical Results of Subsurface Soil Samples Acquired
at 2360 East Street , Tracy , CA
July, 1994
Sample No. TPH-D TPH-G B T E X
and Depth (ppm) (ppm) (ppb)
-----------------------------------------------------------
EP-5 @ 5 ' N.D.
