3
'. tank overburden stockpile (approximately 10O yd ) was used as backfill for the diesel tank
excavation on May 3, 1996. The two remaining stockpiles (diesel tank overburden and
gasoline tank overexcavation. totalling approximately 330 yd3) were both transported by
representatives of Caballero Trucking to the Forward Incorporated landfill in Stockton for ;
,k disposal. Copies of the transport documents for the seventeen loads of soil are included as
Appendix G.
t
i II a
3.0 Conclusions
3.1 Observations ;}
The two UST's 1-4 000 gallon diesel fuel and 1-10
i ( g ,000 gallon unleaded gasoline) were found
to be intact upon removal. No petroleum staining or odors i{were'noted in the diesel UST
excavation; however petroleum odors were noted beneath the gasoline UST. Detectable
gasoline concentrations were encountered in the verification soil samples collected from the
center and the east end of the gasoline tank excavation. No detectable petroleum hydrocarbon
concentrations were encountered in the verificationsoil samples collected beneath the diesel
+ tank. Overexcavation efforts were conducted in the gasoline tank)excavation, and final
verification soil sample analytical results revealed no detectable petroleum concentrations
< remained.
In conclusion, based on review of the soil sample analytical results, it appears that a minor
release of unleaded gasoline had occurred at the site; however
g ! overexcavation efforts appear
to have successfully removed the gasoline impacted soils. As no''finther detectable petroleum
hydrocarbon concentrations have been encountered at the site, nofurther actions appear to be
warranted at this site in association with the removal of the!two UST's.
if !
c
3.2 Reporting Requirements r
Copies of this report and its attachments should be forwarded to the following regulatory
agencies:
• Ms. Letitia Briggs and Mr. Harlan Knoll i
I'Ih San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division iy
PO Box 338
304 E.
