4.0 Soil'Disposal
3r During UST removal and over-excavation activities, approximately 520 tons (400 cubic yards)of
soil were excavated and stockpiled on-site. Based on the results of the laboratory analysis, the
stockpiled soils from the initial tank and fuel dispenser island excavation activities were used to
L{ -
F
backfill the excavation. The soil stockpile generated from the over-ekcavation activities was
transported to Forward Landfill, a Class II facility located in Manteca, California, for disposal. A
copy of the non-hazardous waste manifest and the weight ticket is included in Appendix F.
. 5.0 Site Restoration
Following completion of the UST removal activities, Gettler backfilled the tank excavation using
r
the original stockpile and clean imported fill material and then compacted. Site restoration
activities were conducted by Gettler personnel independent of Shaw oversight.
f
6:0 Conclusions
Based on the field observations and laboratory analytical data presented in this report, Shaw
concludes the following:
• On December 18, 2002, both the diesel and gasoline compartments of the split-
walled 15,000-gallon UST were emptied and rinsed, with the removed fuel and
'. rinsate being transported off-site For disposal.
• On August 7, 2003, the split-walled 15,000-gallon UST.was excavated and
transported off-site for disposal. ' F
Results of the analysis detected TPH-D in one of the dispenser island samples
} [DI-01(51/2')] at a concentration of 210 ppm. No other petroleum hydrocarbon
analytes or fuel oxygenates were detected in any of the remaining initial soil
samples. ,
• Following over-excavation activities, no petroleum hydrocarbon analytes or fuel
oxygenates were detected in the sample collected from the fuel dispenser island
area.
• Approximately 7 cubic yards of stockpiled soils were transported off-site for
disposal.
CNC17110-7-0310:SHARaUS'nO3-0122_doc 5
ii
1', e
IL ;
R
i
- i
