O . Box 2009
Stockton , California 95201
j RE: Fourth Quarter 1992 Groundwater Monitoring Report, King Island Resort, 11530
W . Eight Mile Road , Stockton , CA Site Code: 1557
Dear Mr. Infurna:
Enclosed are the Fourth Quarter 1992 groundwater monitoring results for the above referenced
site (Figure 1 ) . Groundwater monitoring and sampling was conducted by RESNA Industries ,
Inc . (RESNA) personnel on December 2 , 1992 . Water level measurements were collected from
each monitoring well prior to purging and sampling (Attachment 1 ) . Water levels have
decreased an average of 0 . 11 feet since the last monitoring event in September 1992 (Table 1 ) .
A groundwater gradient map was created using the data collected on December 2 , 1992 (Figure
2) . Groundwater flows northeastward , away from the slough , with a gradient of 0 . 066 feet/feet
or approximately 350 feet/mile.
Subsequent to monitoring , each well (MW 1 - MWS) was purged by extracting a minimum of
approximately 3 well casing volumes . While purging , the groundwater parameters (temperature,
conductivity , and pH) were monitored and allowed to stabilize before water samples were
collected . The samples were transported to and analyzed by state-certified RESNA
Environmental Laboratories in Fremont, California.
Samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) using EPA
Method 8020 and , total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) and total petroleum
hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHD) using modified EPA Method 8015 . Monitoring Wells MW1 ,
MW2 , and MW3 did not contain detectable concentrations of the petroleum hydrocarbon
constituents. Monitoring wells MW4 and MW5 contained low to moderate levels of BTEX and
TPHG . TPHD was detected only in well MW4 . The approximate extent of dissolved
' QR121392.FNL
