WATERWORK CORP.
A RESNA Company --•--
Environmental Solutions
Through Applied Science,
Engineering & Construction
1710 Main Street
Escalon, CA 95320
Phone : (209) 838-3507
Fax : (209) 838-3509
December 6 , 1991
Mr. Michael Infuma
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P. O . Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201 FLi 1
RE: King Island Resort
11530 W. Eight Mile Road , Stockton , California.
Site Code: 1557
Dear Mr. Infuma:
Enclosed are the latest analytical results and chain-of-custody documents for groundwater
samples collected from the above referenced site. Groundwater monitoring and sampling was
conducted by RESNA Industries personnel on October 18 , 1991 . Water level measurements
were collected from each monitoring well prior to purging and sampling (Attachment 1 ) . Water
levels have dropped from 0. 80 to 2 . 56 feet since last monitoring in April 1991 . A groundwater
gradient map was created using the data collected on October 18 , 1991 (Figure 1) . The gradient
is approximately 0 . 05 feet/feet or 264 feet/mile in a northeast direction.
Subsequent to monitoring , each well was purged by extracting approximately 4 well volumes.
While purging, the groundwater parameters (temperature, conductivity, and pH) were monitored
and allowed to stabilize before water samples were collected. The samples were transported to
and analyzed by state-certified Sequoia Analytical in Concord , California.
Samples were analyzed for BTEX using EPA method 8020/602 and , TPHG and TPHD using
modified EPA Method 8015 . Monitoring Well MW4 did not contain enough water to analyze
for TPHD . Monitoring Wells MW 1 , MW2, and MW3 did not contain detectable concentrations
of any petroleum hydrocarbon analyte. Monitoring wells MW4 and MW5 contained benzene
concentrations of 690 and 1 , 300 µg/1 , respectively and TPHG concentrations of 3 ,400 and 4 ,400
µg/1 , respectively along with detectable T, E, X , and TPHD (MW5) . Laboratory reports with
chain-of-custody documents are included in Attachment 2 . Table 2 summarizes laboratory
analyses.
KIRL1209.TLP
