This Work Plan includes proposed investigation activities based on
our conversations and the site visit occurring over the last couple of weeks. Also included in the
Work Plan is a summary table of historic adsorbed analytical results and two adsorbed MTBE
isoconcentration maps that you requested.
Your January 2007 letter also requested that a revised CAP and Site Conceptual Model (SCM)
be prepared and submitted along with the attached Work Plan. ATC is of the opinion that the
information collected from the proposed assessment, Work Plan attached, would be very
valuable in preparing the CAP and SCM, and thus requests an extension commensurate with
collecting the new data for these two documents.
Extension Request Rational
CAP : The information we collect during the proposed assessment will further define the vertical
Ili and lateral area of concern with respect to MTBE (and petroleum hydrocarbon where
applicable), which will be significant when implementing the revised remedial approach ATC
has selected for this site. With the new technology approach, ozone will not be utilized and
therefore an ozone bench scale test will not be necessary. In addition, the ART wells will not be
apart of the new CAP.
SCM: The revised SCM will benefit from the additional/new data and will present a more
accurate picture of, but not limited to, contaminant mass distribution, adsorbed MTBE mass flux,
Ir
2/27/2007
