tf ' hliy _. 1s1yl . ✓lam r/fd..=_ - (•rl...i
King Island Resort page 3
11530 W . Eight Mile Rd , Stockton .
CPT-3 is located near MW-7 and is in the area with the previously highest
concentrations of petroleum in the ground water at the site. The MtBE in CPT-3
indicates that the vertical extent of ground water contamination in that area has not been
determined . Additionally, it is not known what relationship exists between contamination
at this depth and the potential for this contamination to reach the drinking water well for
this facility. This potential must be addressed .
MW-6 is the most down gradient monitoring well for this site and currently continues to
detect the highest concentrations of MtBE at the site. Geotracker EDF data for the
latest ground water sampling event, September 2006 , reported MtBE at 3300 ug/L in
MW-6. MW-6 is a 'shallow' (first interface) monitoring well . The MtBE concentrations in
MW-6 have been trending upward and the EHD has concluded that the plume is
continuing to migrate northeasterly in the upper water bearing zone . With a consistent
northeast ground water gradient direction recorded for this site (towards MW-6) , the
extent of the dissolved plume continues to be undefined laterally. Further investigation
is needed to define the lateral and vertical extents of MtBE at this site.
An updated SCM , a work plan for investigation of the lateral and vertical extent of
j the petroleum contamination , and a work plan to conduct an air sparge test are to
be submitted to the EHD no later than January 19, 2007. A proposal for the bench
scale test is to be submitted the CVRWQCB by January 19, 2007 and
'r correspondence copied to the EHD as well .
i Please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 if you have any questions.
i
Donna Heran , REHS , Director
Environ ental Health Department
Michael J .
