C\V'Y' <br /> 0 <br /> A S S O C I A T E S I N C <br /> are near the edge of the plume at these directions <br /> The TPHd and MTBE groundwater plumes are similar to the TPHg plume, located along the <br /> backside of the levee, west of the store TPHd and MTBE have additionally migrated east and <br /> have been detected in borings SB31 and SB32 and in well MW5 as shown on Figures 8 and 9 <br />' Figure 2 depicts the location of the former USTs, the current AST, the former product lines for <br /> the USTs, and the current product lines for the AST During the removal of one diesel UST and <br />' one gasoline UST in March 1999, soil samples were collected between 7 5 and 10 5 feet bgs <br /> These samples contained low concentrations of TPHd and MTBE and no detectable <br /> concentrations of TPHg During the removal of the former product line and the installation of the <br /> current product line in the common trench between the dock and the store, soil samples were <br /> collected from 1 foot bgs These samples contained low concentrations of TPHg and MTBE and <br /> no detectable concentrations of TPHd Based on the location of the former product lines, the <br /> fact that there was a break in the former product lines, and the analytical results of this <br /> investigation, it is ATC's opinion that the TPHg and TPHd impacted soil in the vicimty of boring <br /> SB29 are a result of the fuel leak in 1989 <br /> During the removal of two USTs in March 1999, soil samples were collected between 7 5 and <br /> 10 5 feet bgs These samples contained low concentrations of MTBE During the removal of the <br /> former product line and the installation of the current product line in the common trench between <br /> the dock and the metal building, soil samples were collected from 1 foot bgs These samples <br /> contained low concentrations of MTBE Based on the location of the former and current product <br /> lines between dock and the metal building and the analytical results of this investigation, it is <br /> ATC's opinion that the MTBE impacted soil is a result of a leaking product line Based on the <br /> fact that elevated MTBE concentrations have been detected in groundwater samples from on-site <br /> monitoring wells since August 1997, it is ATC's opinion that the former product line had a leak <br /> and was the source for the MTBE impacted soil It is unknown if the current AST product line is <br /> ileaking <br /> ' Because the former product line was leaking and was the probable source of the MTBE impacted <br /> soil, it is likely that the leaking product line also impacted soil in the vicinity of the common <br /> trench with TPHg and TPHd The groundwater sample collected from boring SB28, the boring <br /> 1 closest to the common product line trench, contained the highest concentrations of TPHg and <br /> TPHd supporting this assertion <br /> w 162514lreportslsuminv doc 7 <br />
