2.2.3 Domestic Well Sampling and Analysis <br /> Domestic wells DW-I located on the Holiday Harbor property and DW-2 and DW-3, located on the King Island <br />' property were first sampled on January 25, 1996 and then again on February 8, 1996 A faucet closest to each <br /> well was opened and allowed to run for several minutes Clean, laboratory-supplied glassware was then filled <br /> from the faucet, labeled and placed in an ice-filled cooler for transport to the laboratory <br /> Domestic well water samples collected during the January sampling were submitted to Superior Analytical <br /> accompanied by a completed cham-of-custody form Water samples were analyzed for TPHg, TPHd,TPHmo, <br />' and BTEX using EPA Method 8015-M/8020 and 5520 All samples retained by this procedure were recorded <br /> on Cham-of-Custody Records,which accompanied the samples to the laboratory and are included as Appendix <br /> F <br />' To further define the types of hydrocarbons encountered on the site, the water samples collected in February were <br /> submitted to Zymax for analysis for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX),TPH C4-C40, and <br /> naphthalene using a combination of GC/MS for EPA Method 8260 and 8270 protocol All samples retained by <br /> this procedure were recorded on Cham-of-Custody Records,which accompanied the samples to the laboratory <br /> and are included as Appendix G <br />' 2.3 EQUIPMENT DECONTAMINATION AND WASTE CONTAINMENT <br /> To mnunuze the potential for cross-contamination between sampling locations,all downhole drilling equipment <br /> and sod sampling equipment was thoroughly cleaned prior to initiating work and between each samplmg location <br /> Downhole drilling equipment was steam cleaned between each boring location Soil and groundwater sampling <br /> equipment(e g sample tubes,split spoon sampler,and stainless steel bailer)was washed in a dilute trisodmm <br />' phosphate solution(TSP),rinsed with potable water, and final rinsed with distilled water between each sampling <br /> location <br />' Wastes generated during this investigation included soil cuttings and decontamination rinsate Soil cuttings <br /> generated were contained in DOT approved 55-gallon drums All waste containers were labeled to identify <br /> contents and date of generation <br /> 1 <br /> h 1wesUocllohhSkJdm rpt <br />' 50133-00I.02 <br />
