P'P A
DEL- TECH Ge.technical'iSLi' is-fty"
es t
52
Mike Infurna April 05, 1996
San Joaquin County Public Health Services 1 Environmentaljj Health Division
304 East Weber Ave. / 3rd Floor
P.O. Box 398
Stockton, Calif. 95201-0388
RE: PUMPING, CONTAINMENT, SAMPLE ANALYSIS AND DISPOSAL OF PURGE
WATER FROM DOMESTIC WELL.
LOCATION: KING ISLAND TRAILER PARK, 122 W. ALDER ST.,
STOCKTON, CA.
Mr. Infurna,
The pumping, containment and disposal of the purge water fro!rn the pumping event on March 21,
1996, has been completed. Approximately 500 gallons of water was pumped from within the well
li
casing from a depth of approximately 16 vertical feet belowl1the surface. The recharge of water
I'
to the well was very quick and the total depth of the well is 177 feet deep.
The pumping event was coordinated to determine the influence of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
that were previously detected in the water, within the casing, of this now abandoned production
well. During the pumping a monitoring well log was maintained and is attached with all of the
parameters monitored. All of the water pumped was temporarily stored in poly containment
drums and then manifested and pumped out by American Valley Environmental on the same day.
Manifest # 93464773.
As required, Ms. Margaret Lagario of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
was notified prior to and on the day of the pumping event, since you were out on vacation.
Once the pumping was completed, a grab sample of the watdr was collected from the well. The
sample was collected with a clean stainless steel bailer. Tw 0 V.O.A. Vials and one amber liter
bottle were collected. The samples were labeled and stored i in a chilled ice chest containing ice.
California Certified Laboratory, Sherwood Labs. #1400, completed the sample analysis.
The certified analytical analysis attached, suggests that there is a low level of degraded gasoline
within the well casing at 115 parts per billion Tph- gas.
10624 Olive Avenue, Oakdale, CA 95361 (209) 847-8757 Fax (209) 847-7744
