The 12,000-gallon
diesel tank is constructed with full secondary containment. The tanks and drums inside of the
shop are contained by liquid-tight raised sills directing spills to an adjacent service pit, and
the outside used oil tank is fully contained by steel secondary containment. The secondary
containment is adequately designed and has sufficient structural strength and compatibility
with the contents. The tanks and secondary containment are not expected to collapse,
rupture, or corrode. The secondary containment has sufficient volume for 100 percent of the
largest tank capacity and none of the secondary containment is subject to storm water.
The storm drains south and east of the administrative offices are routed through the Bay
Saver®which will contain sediments and limited amounts of petroleum.
Spill Response Equipment
The Facility is prepared to control and remove any quantity of oil discharged that may be
harmful. The following manpower, equipment, and materials are available as needed:
• Sorbent material kits;
• Safety equipment; and
• Subcontractor to provide material containment and clean-up in large quantities.
As part of the plant's monthly SPCC inspection, the spill response equipment supply is
verified and the need for restocking equipment is identified.
Alta Environmental 17
BASR-19-8895
July 3, 2019
