During the third quarter, the remediation well (EW-1), the drainage ditch along the
eastern portion of the site, and eleven of the site's thirteen six monitoring wells (MW-2 through
MW-14) were sampled for petroleum constituents. Wells MW-2 and MW-9 could not be
located, and well MWA 3 was "dry" this quarter. As shown in the following table, petroleum
hydrocarbon constituents were detected in water samples from two of the monitoring wells.
Third Quarter 2014 Groundwater Monitorin Results jig/l)
Ethyl- Total MTBE TBA
Well TPH-g Benzene Toluene Benzene Xylenes
MW-3 1,800 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 43 86,000
M 67-4 1,100 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 <0.5 39 980
<=Non-detect at or above laboratory reporting limits
Based on the sampling results, AGE recommends continuing groundwater monitoring on a
second annual basis during first and third quarters, try and locate MW-2 and MW-9, and
properly decommission MW-11, MW-12, and MW-13 to facilitate construction activities planned
for the levee. The three wells are located on the west side of the levee.
Central Valley Water Board staff concurs with AGE's recommendations, including
decommissioning the three monitoring wells. If site conditions warrant, replacement wells may
be required in the future. By 30 April 2015 submit your first quarter 2015 monitoring report to
Geotracker. Continue groundwater monitoring and submitting your semi-annual monitoring
reports to Geotracker by 30 April and 30 October of each calendar year samples are collected.
Groundwater monitoring is to continue at your site until you are informed by Central Valley
Water Board staff that monitoring is no longer required.
