i iierman Zic [{clan s,l+Iannd First Quarter 2000 Groundwater Monttorteg April 20 2000 ' Page y 5 SUMMARY/CONCLUSIONS On March 17 2000 Condor conducted quarterly groundwater and surface water monitoring at Herman & Helen's ,Marina located at Venll e island Fcrry in Stockton, C alilornia Laboratory analytical results of the groundwater samples collected during the first quarter 2000, monitoring event are generally consistent with Ihistorical quarterly groundwater analvtical data Groundwater elevation measuremLnts collected at the site on March 17 '_'000, indicated that the average depth to groundwater was approximately sir feet below the monitor well and Island drainage channel water surface measuring points Groundwater elevation contouis for (March 17, 2000 indicate that the groundwater gradient at the site is generallv consistent with thL historical groundwater gradient Historlcal laboratory analytical results indicate that generally low conccntrat{ons of °MTBE have been present in at least one of the surface water samples collected during the surface water sampling events During the first quarter, 1999, monitoring event however, M TBE was detected in samples DDN and DDS (980 and 3 500 µg/1, respectively) at significantly higher concentrations than in previous and subsequent monitoring events Additionally, the only surface water sample detections of TAME were reported in samples DDN and DDS during the first quarter, 1999, monitoring event During the current monitoring event, MTBE was again detected at an elevated concentration in surface water sample DDS (4,700 µg/1) As previously mentioned In Section 2 Mr Ronald Rowe of the P11S/EHD has requested that nine soil borings be installed to further evaluate the eastern extent of groundwater contamination at the site The installation and sampling of the soil borings is pending receipt of site access authorization from off-site property owners • 1 lie next quarterly groundwater monitoring event is scheduled to be conducted in June, 2000 We anticipate reporting the results of the remaining work described in the work plan addendum concurrently with the June, 2000, groundwater monitoring results Please call us at (209) 234-0518 with any questions u Res ectfll submitted Respectfully CONDOR EARTH TECIINOLOGILS, INC F.
